Get behind a professional espresso machine and discover what it takes to make great coffee with our 2.5 hour Barista Experience at the Ground Coffee Society Coffee School in Wandsworth Town, London.

Designed for coffee lovers rather than professional baristas, this is a relaxed, fun and highly hands on experience. Come on your own, as a couple, with friends or as a small group. No previous barista experience is needed.

With a maximum of just six people per session, you'll have plenty of time behind the machine, with around two hours dedicated to hands on barista practice.

What You'll Learn

Dialling In a Coffee Grinder
Learn how to correctly set up and dial in a professional coffee grinder and understand how changes to grind size affect the way your espresso tastes.

Brewing Great Espresso
Learn how to dose, extract and brew espresso consistently and accurately. We'll show you what to look for in a good extraction and how to make adjustments when something isn't quite right.

Milk Steaming
Learn how to correctly steam and texture milk to create the smooth, silky microfoam needed for great milk based coffees.

Latte Art
Once you've mastered your milk, it's time to start pouring. You'll learn the fundamentals of latte art and have plenty of time to practise your technique.

Most importantly, this isn't a class where you spend the evening watching someone else make coffee. You'll be behind the espresso machine making coffee yourself.

Your Experience

Sessions start at 6:30pm and run for approximately 2.5 hours, with around two hours of practical, hands on barista training.

At the end of the evening, you'll also leave with a Ground Coffee Society gift bag to take home.
